Primary Purpose of JobThis job is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting QuikTrip Aviation department aircraft to ensure safe and reliable performance. Conducts routine servicing to optimize the lifetime of aircraft and their components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical manuals. This position will report to the Manager of Aircraft Maintenance

 

 

Operational Procedures:

    • Ensures company aircraft are maintained to the highest level and all inspections and scheduled checks are kept current.
    • Provides efficient and timely scheduling of all maintenance and repair.
    • Directs compliance of minimum equipment list (MEL) maintenance procedures.
    • Coordinates and monitors all shipping, receiving and establishes spare inventory for aircraft and equipment.

                   

Quality Assurance:

    • Ensures the highest level of quality of aircraft, engine and avionics maintenance and repairs.

 

 

Aircraft database

    • Ensures company aircraft are in compliance with the Federal Aviation Administration requirements for aircraft databases. Including but not limited to navigation, AOPA, Basemap, Safetaxi, Obstacle, Terrain and Jeppesen chart updates.

 

Assist with line operations:

  • Responsible for safe and proper refueling of all aircraft.
  • Responsible for safe transport of aircraft to/from ramp and hangar
  • Assists with fuel farm operations.
      • Accepting tanker loads
      • Quality control
  • This job will require flexible hours to accommodate the aircraft schedules.

 

Special Projects/Assignments:

    • Accepts responsibility for all other special project duties as assigned.

 

Position in Organization

Reports to: Manager of Aircraft Maintenance

 

Relationships

 

Inside the Company: All company personnel that travel or schedule personnel or equipment through the QuikTrip aviation area.

Outside the Company: Equipment/supply vendors.   

 

Position Specifications

The required specifications (education, experience, and skills) are those that the employee must have to hold the position.  Applicants applying for this position must possess the required specifications in order to be considered for the job. Required education:High school graduate or equivalent, holding an Airframe and Power plant (A&P) certificate.

Desired education: Associate or bachelor’s degree. Completion of manufacturer’s training in the company’s aircraft and power-plant.     

Required experience: 3-5 years as an aviation mechanic.  Must have broad knowledge of and experience with the maintenance of aircraft and/or helicopters.

Desired experience: 5+ years of experience with jet aircraft.

Required skills: Maintenance skills consistent with hours as airframe and  power plant technician. Experience with Embraer aircraft or Bell helicopters is a plus. Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

This position has a direct correlation to the safety and comfort of the flight crew and passengers by virtue of maintaining the aircraft in the highest state of mechanical condition possible.  This position requires the employee to be available by phone and/or email and/or have accessibility to calendar, contacts and data while out of the office.

 

Starting Pay: $33.61-$39.54 per hour
