Job Description: 

Primary Purpose of the job

Creating and maintaining a positive patient experience at QuikMed. Involved in both clinical and administrative areas including assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Cares for patients under the direction of the Clinical Operations Manager, Advanced Practitioners, Medical Director, and in compliance with QuikMed's philosophy as well as standards of practice and regulations of government agencies.

Required Education

1. Required education: High school graduate/GED/vocational training equivalency.

2. Required license/certification:
a. Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
b. Valid state/government issued identification.
c. Medical Assistant education in progress or certification OR
o May be substituted for 6 months with direct patient care in a clinical setting in emergency medicine, urgent care, primary care, or an ambulatory care setting as a Medical Assistant, certified Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic.

Required Experience

5+ years direct patient care in a clinical setting in emergency medicine, urgent care, primary care, or an ambulatory care setting as a Medical Assistant, certified Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic. With current experience required in Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injections.

Knowledge of government/legal regulations and requirements related to health care and Medical Assistant's scope of practice based on certification or license. Knowledge of health care delivery trends and implications for clinical specialty and for the medical practice. Follows ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, HIPAA, informed consent, and unanticipated adverse outcomes. Other HR materials.

Additional Criteria for Scope & Impact of Position

Must be able to handle confidential information. Must be organized and very accurate. Errors are very serious and can lead to lawsuits.
